Based on a Sunstar Cebu Philippines editorial, this study involves three primary analyses. The first analysis highlights how textual metafunction organizes the message by blending interpersonal and ideational meanings to enhance coherence. The second analysis delves into thematic structure, consisting of theme and rheme components. The final part discusses techniques for teaching sentence parts in modern classrooms. The researchers use discourse analysis to examine longer texts or utterances. The study's findings reveal the significance of grammatical complexity, with nominal groupings serving various functions in clauses and prepositional phrases, coordination facilitating smooth idea flow, and thematic structure emphasizing themes and rhemes as integral components of sentences.
