Abstract

Students have different learning styles, including Visual, Auditory, Reading, Writing, and Kinesthetic, to obtain successful academic performance. Understanding these learning styles is one way of creating a classroom with higher success rates and leading to higher educational achievement. The study focused on determining the learning styles of BEED students concerning their academic performance in a private university in a highly urbanized city in Central Philippines during the School Year 2022-2023. The data needed for this descriptive study was collected from 97 BEED students using a self-made questionnaire that has passed stringent validity and reliability tests. Overall, students' learning styles resulted in a high level of auditory, reading, writing, kinesthetic, and visual, with the most dominant learning style. No significant difference was revealed in the level of learning styles and academic performance when grouped and compared according to sex, parents’ highest educational attainment, and grade level. Likewise, no significant relationship between learning styles and students' academic performance was revealed. This suggests that BEED students can adapt their learning and achieve high performance regardless of their learning styles. A flexible and varied teaching strategy may more effectively support student achievement across different learning contexts. The study results call for seminars and training on related topics to accommodate variations in learning styles across inclusive learning environments that optimize educational experiences and outcomes for all students.
