Loanword Transmission Patterns of Foreign Words in Hiligaynon Language: Teaching the Mother Tongue

Abstract

This study focused on integrating foreign words in the   Hiligaynon language, exploring the detailed dynamics of loanword transmission patterns. It examines the subtle changes in meaning, spelling, and pronunciation when these words are assimilated into the native language. Additionally, the study investigates the implications of these teaching patterns for Mother Tongue education and stresses the importance of integrating cultural and linguistic adaptations into language training. By analyzing loanword transmission and linguistic techniques, this research provides a deeper understanding of language development and teaching practices in the Hiligaynon-speaking community. This study explored loanwords and their impact on teaching Mother Tongue, revealing language evolution and cultural context. It advocates for a paradigm shift in teaching practices, using discourse analysis to understand social effects. The research encourages educators to adapt approaches, recognizing language fluidity for a holistic, adaptive Mother Tongue education framework.
